The Artist's Inspiration
Every time I stand on this ground, I feel the same thing: that I have stepped into a hidden valley, a garden set apart from the world — the way I imagine Eden must have felt. I know this course cold and muddy in January, and I know it blazing under the August sun. That familiarity, earned one round at a time over years, is what finally let me recognise the morning I had been waiting for. This image has been a quiet dream of mine for a very long time.
A Personal Connection
Mallorca is my home for half of every year, and Son Vida is where I return almost daily — not for an assignment, but because it is simply my favourite course of all the ones I have played, and I have played many. Its front nine is tight and technical, threading between some of the most refined private estates on the island. Its back nine opens into wide, rolling open terrain that feels almost like a different course entirely — freer, wilder, more exposed to the sky.
The Story Behind the Scene
I waited a long time for this particular morning. I returned to Son Vida again and again, standing at different points across the course, watching how the light moved through the pines and across the hillside estates through the seasons — searching for the one vantage point that would hold everything I wanted this piece to say.
